Name: Jaime Reyes
Canon: Batman: Brave and the Bold
Overview: Normal American high school student from Texas who stumbled upon the blue scarab, an alien artifact that has a mind of its own and can cover him with a suit of armor and form various weapons. While the suit was designed by an alien race that wanted to build an army of warrior and invaders, Jaime was a huge super hero nerd and Batman fanboy, so he took to using the suit to battle evil under the alias "Blue Beetle".
Enrollment Status: Student. 11th Grade
Species: Human with alien robot symbiote
AU Overview: Backstory is more or less the same. After he got the scarab, he went on one largely accidental rampage that got the attention of St. Augustus, which he was promptly enrolled in so that he could learn to control his new powers.
The scarab largely acts on its own, protecting Jaime from what it perceives as danger without his input. Without it activating, he is 100% ordinary human. In a contract duel, its powers are much easier to draw on, and he can usually activate it and control it as he needs it to.
